Open Positions

Tree Trimmers are the muscle of LCTS. These industrial athletes come together at a job site to work as a team to provide high-quality tree care for our clients’ landscapes. The team applies expertise in climbing, pruning, removal, and safety to ensure the health and beauty of each client’s landscape.

 

Job Duties:
• Able to follow directions and work as a part of the team
• Report for duty at the designated location at the assigned time
• Leave ‘issues at home’ as to avoid distractions and focus on the tasks at hand
• Ability to solve problems as they arise and achieve common goals
• Assist by working on the ground, handling tools and heavy materials as needed
• Equipment operations including bobcat, 101’lift, various trailers
• Maintenance and cleaning of equipment such as trailers, ropes
• Keeping the work area clear of debris, cleaning up limbs and branches as they are brought down in tree cutting work
• Raking the work area clear to maintain safety
• Lining up branches and piling appropriately for loading into the trailer
• Keeping tools in the staging area and safe zone
• Assuring that all rope and equipment lines are kept clear at all times
• Being attentive to the climber’s cues throughout the job, watching the climber constantly
• Safely driving company vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge of:
• Basic tree trimming methods, techniques, equipment and procedures.
• Safe worksite practices
• Basic understanding of tree growth
• Basic tree inspection skills
• Common tree and plant identification skills especially poisonous plants
• Basic tree trimming tools and equipment – hand and power tools


Qualifications:
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Have valid driver’s license
• Have available transportation,
• Ability to obtain a CDL desirable
• Be willing to submit to a drug screening post-offer and throughout employment
• Be able to lift 75-100+ pounds
• Have the ability to perform strenuous labor in all North Florida weather conditions
• Entry-level position, no experience required but previous experience a plus
• Tolerant of spiders and bugs

Daily tasks, skills, and responsibilities include:
• Ability to tie tree industry knots
• Operate and maintain all types of company equipment
• Skill to hoist tools and equipment, safely lower branches with ropes, use a block and tackle
• Strives to perform up to their potential and willingness to advance in education and skills
• Daily inspection of all safety and PPE equipment. Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment properly. Inspects and maintains own PPE
• Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies, participates in all safety training sessions, asks questions, and improves job safety skills
• Assists with driving, backing, loading, and parking duties
• Assists with maintenance of traffic flow on municipal roadways
• Maintain job site at all times with as much safety and neatness and orderliness as possible.
• Clean up work site at end of day/project with great attention to detail
• Maintains assigned company gear

The Tree Trimmer II position in for individuals experienced in the tree service industry.  This is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning, and removal on residential and commercial properties using ropes, harness, and/or company lift equipment in accordance with company policy.  Tree Trimmer II position incudes supervisory and training duties of Tree Trimmer I crew members and directly reports to Tree Trimmer III.

 

Job Duties:

• Experience with Bobcat and lift
• Tolerant of spiders and bugs

• Static and dynamic cabling, bracing, bolting, guying trees and branches
• Ability to tie tree industry knots
• Operate and maintain all types of company equipment
• Skill to hoist tools and equipment, safely lower branches with ropes, use a block and tackle
• Strives to perform up to their potential, advance in education and skills
• Daily inspection of all safety equipment including ropes, helmets, PPE
• Learns, understands, and adheres to all safety rules and company safety policies, participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skills
• Utilizes all appropriate personal protective equipment properly. Inspects and maintains own PPE
• Assists with driving, backing, loading, and parking duties

The Tree Trimmer III position in for individuals experienced in the tree service industry along with management experience.  This is a skilled position responsible for tree maintenance, pruning, and removal on residential and commercial properties using ropes, harness, and/or company lift equipment in accordance with company policy. Tree Trimmer III position incudes supervisory and training duties of Tree Trimmer crew members and directly reports to Foreman.
